Fall Franchise Workshop
The first Miss Georgia Pageant Fall Franchise Workshop was held in Columbus at Columbus State University's Davison's Center on Saturday, September 23. It was a wonderful workshop! Everyone had a great time!
A General Session started the morning. Mansfield Bias, our President and Executive Director, welcomed everyone and talked about the Miss America Program and "where we are headed";
Pam Kennedy, Miss Georgia 2000, addressed the general session about how her summer has been going and her preparation for Atlantic City. Your webmaster also addressed the General Session announcing the new website address, as well as the decision to start sending out the Newsletter again. Snooky and Susan Squires presented Certificates of Appreciation to the franchises from Osjha, Miss Georgia 1999.
To end the General Session, Greg Woolief presented Pam Carter, VP, a mask. Ask her
about it! (Be sure and check the picture of her wearing it!)
After a short break, the group divided into different sessions. The morning sessions included "Judging--Looking for the right Miss" and "Communication, Promotion, Organization--The way of the furture is the web!"
After lunch, the afternoon sessions included "Preparation and Platform--The issue shouldn't be an issue!" and "Production--Limited funds, limited resources, limited help? What to do!"
The group met back in another General session for a Discussion Group and reports from the morning and afternoon workshops. This was led by Wanda Whitten.
If you were unable to attend, you missed a great time of sharing among the franchises!
Stay tuned . . .you will hear more in the near future about some of the specific suggestions
from this workshop.
